Modell
by František ŠtormAs a boy I used to draw bizarre machines. The weirdness regrouped in the illustrations, but the typography inspired by industrial morphology remained. A typeface of a similar cut was once spotted on the label of some ingenious device from the 1950s, which I believe is the cradle of Brutalist architecture. the font „Modell“ is suitable for signs in buildings, for invitations and corporate identity, as well as for personalizing websites.
Modell was designed for presentation of an imaginary vehicle project shown in the poster. It's powered by two rocket engines whose thrust is directed upwards "to deliver better stability in curves at higher speeds". The power is distributed over a big flywheel to the full-metal whels. But in result of the propulsion idea, the heavy monster was about to sink under ground... The monopost's body is made of milled steel ingor, with the cabin armor thickness of 64 cm, and the hull of 41 cm. The brake system is pretty obvious; same goes to the overall naive drawing dated from 1988.
