Andulka Value Pack

A universal typeface for books, magazines and newspapers. Economizing, quiet, strong in drawing, but original and peaceful at the same time. Andulka was created without any historical reminiscences in mind, but with emphasis on contemporary design requirements. Type “for all weather” resists many difficulties of printing on different surfaces, uses less space on page, and thus saves paper too. Italics may remind humanistic calligraphy, but are perfectly weighted for largest text paragraphs. The shape of lowercase “germandoubles” is inspired by a Budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus) bird called “Andulka” in Czech language, she sings lovely and is everyday lovely companion.
Univerzální písmo pro knihy, časopisy a noviny je úsporné, tiché, silné v kresbě, ale zároveň originální a klidné. Andulka byla vytvořena bez jakýchkoliv historických reminiscencí, ale s důrazem na současné designové požadavky. Písmo „do každého počasí“ odolává mnoha obtížím při tisku na různé povrchy, využívá méně místa na stránce, a tím také šetří papír. Kurzíva může připomínat humanistickou inspiraci. Tvar minusky „germandoubles“ je inspirován Andulkou, jež krásně zpívá a je každodenní půvabnou společnicí.
